It is forbidden to carry out work on the installation of lifting cranes, and to operate lifting cranes installed outdoors:
- when the wind speed exceeds the limit values specified in the manufacturer's installation instructions (lifting crane passport);
- at air temperatures below those specified in the lifting crane passport;
- during snowfall, rain, or fog, and in other cases when the crane operator (crane driver) has poor visibility of the slinger's signals or the load being moved.
When work is to be suspended, it is necessary to:
- move boom self-propelled cranes to the transport position;
- position tower and portal cranes in the positions specified by the operating manual;
- position lifting cranes moving on outdoor crane tracks on anti-derailment devices (grippers), and ensure they are in good working order;
- ensure the brakes of the crane's travel mechanisms are in good working order;
- take additional measures if necessary (e.g., placing chocks on the rails under the travel wheels, installing guy ropes, etc.);
- exclude people from hazardous zones.
