This time, for the opening of the main city Christmas tree on Yubileynaya Square, the organizers decided to abandon the usual procession of Father Frosts and other fairy-tale characters accompanying them. Instead, a competition "Invasion of Snowmen" was announced among organizations and enterprises. "Since the weather is unpredictable, and there is no guarantee that it will provide us with 'building material' on this day, we decided to hold a competition for snowman costumes. It is desirable that they reflect the specifics of the profession or occupation. But if there is snow after all, we will sculpt real snowmen around the square to make it a real invasion," explained Natalia Potyankovskaya.
Further in the program, there will traditionally be active games to warm up children and adults. And after the lights on the main Christmas tree are lit, people will dance around it in a round dance and proceed to the next venue of the celebration - the District House of Culture. Here, visitors can attend exhibitions, view children's works for the Christmas tree decoration contest, buy souvenirs from local artisans and entrepreneurs, and participate in the "Fair of Kindness" by purchasing crafts made by visitors of the day care unit for people with disabilities. You can also take part in another charity event, "Time to Give Kindness." To do this, you need to hand over stationery supplies to the organizers and receive a small heart in return - a symbol of a good deed done. The collected gifts will be presented to children left without parental care, from disadvantaged and large families, and children with disabilities at a charity matinee, which will take place on December 29 at the District House of Culture. The evening will conclude with a performance for children and adults, "The New Year Adventures of the Woodworm."
