The current "Gorodok" of childhood appeared on the map of Vitebsk in Bilevo

A unique gift – a real "Town" of childhood – was presented to the young residents of the Bilevo microdistrict by the city authorities and a foreign investor company. The handover certificate for the completed building was signed by Tatyana Kuzmich, Head of the Education Department of the Pervomaisky District Administration, and a representative of the investor company.

It was built in record time using advanced technologies not only in construction but also in equipment. It is environmentally friendly. Single-storey. Floor-to-ceiling windows with doors that open directly onto the playground.

"For the last two years, we have been trying to move away from traditional projects and introduce something unusual, colourful, and more convenient," noted Alexander Subbotin, Chairman of the Regional Executive Committee. "We will select the best, build the most optimal, convenient, and beautiful. This kindergarten is equipped in a modern way, and it is very cosy. It has a swimming pool, sports and music halls, and the corridors and lobbies are also involved in the educational process. It even smells of wood inside! I think the kindergarten will welcome our young residents at the beginning of next year."

The new preschool educational institution is designed for 190 children, for whom 10 fully equipped groups are ready. Staff have been recruited. "So, the housewarming is just around the corner," believes the headmistress Tatyana Savelyeva.

"All the furniture, textiles, and carpets in the kindergarten are of domestic production. We have a large laundry complex with modern energy-efficient equipment. In the kitchen, chefs will be able to prepare about 2000 dishes per shift. Heated lockers have been installed in the changing rooms, which will allow the children's clothes to always remain dry during the autumn-winter period."

The entire space is a real children's "Town" with cottage-type houses, which hold many surprises.

– Our company has practically created a new industry in Belarusian construction – prefabricated wooden house building. This kindergarten is built entirely from wooden panels manufactured at the Shklov Paper Mill, – said Denis Matveenko, Chief Engineer of the investing company. – They are easy to assemble and significantly reduce construction times. The kindergarten is energy-efficient. Its design includes 260-millimetre wall insulation. The insulation thickness on the roof reaches 600 millimetres. Consequently, the energy costs for maintaining the building are much lower. We tried to plan the placement of all utilities at the design stage. While standard childcare facilities have separate bedrooms, here the area is combined into a children's group, doubling the available space. The groups are equipped with supply and exhaust ventilation systems of Belarusian production, which regulate the carbon dioxide level in the air. The building has been designed with a barrier-free environment based on the principle of zero elevations.

Mini-cottages have been built in the play hall: a library, a cafe, and a shop, all furnished with wooden furniture. The walls inside are interactive, featuring embedded games.

We hope that our kindergarten will bring much joy to the young residents of Vitebsk.
