On October 30, Natalia Kochanova met with the chairpersons of the rural councils of the Dokshitsy and Lepel districts, noting that this would not be her last trip to the northern region of Belarus.

“I believe you listened carefully to what our President said at the meeting last Friday. The tasks set by Alexander Grigoryevich for the development of the Vitebsk region must be implemented as soon as possible. The Head of State instructed to put things in order by November 7, which primarily concerns dairy farms and the creation of conditions for calf rearing. By January 1, the President said, everything should be ‘spotless’. We, colleagues, have previously agreed on numerous occasions that during the Year of Improvement, we will put everything in order everywhere. And you, colleagues, must get seriously involved in this work,” said the Speaker of the Council of the Republic.

Natalia Kochanova noted that there are still issues with some enterprises that need to be resolved. The Chairperson of the Council of the Republic will continue her working trips to the Vitebsk region without prior notification of her route, in order to see the objective picture.

“You know, the Vitebsk region is not unfamiliar to me. I lived and worked here for many years and heard the tasks that were previously set by the chairpersons of the regional executive committees, who spoke, among others, at the President’s meeting. I thought we had already built the entire system – dairy farms and livestock complexes, but it turned out that this is not the case,” the Speaker noted. “I have the most pleasant impressions from visiting the agricultural enterprise ‘Begomlskoye’. It’s a good complex, people receive decent wages, they plant a garden, and they maintain the territory. But when we went further, issues arose, mainly concerning order. At the same time, the production indicators of agricultural enterprises are not bad. Both milk yield and weight gain are good, and calf survival is one hundred percent. But there is disorder around. This should not be the case.”

Natalia Kochanova reminded that by January 1, the President has also set the task to resolve all issues with rural trade. And the continuous monitoring of trade facilities (assortment, prices, quality of goods) and healthcare institutions must continue.
