This was announced today to journalists by the Chairman of the Board of the National Bank, Pyotr Prokopovich, as reported by a BELTA correspondent. The refinancing rate will be changed in accordance with the main directions of monetary policy, Pyotr Prokopovich noted. According to the MDMP, it should be 9-12% in 2010. "We already have 12%," he emphasized. "Further changes in the refinancing rate will depend on the inflation level. As inflation decreases, the refinancing rate will also decrease."
