March 11, Minsk /Anna Kot - BELTA/. The refinancing rate in March will remain at 23.5% per annum. This decision was made by the Board of the National Bank of Belarus, the Information and Public Relations Department of the National Bank informed BELTA.

The National Bank explained that the dynamics of inflationary processes since the beginning of the year are higher than projected values. In February 2014, consumer prices increased by 2%, and in January by 1.6%.

"In order to curb inflation and maintain attractive conditions for holding ruble funds in banks, the refinancing rate in March 2014 will remain at the previous level," the National Bank noted.

"In the future, the National Bank will continue to promptly monitor the state of the economy and the monetary sphere and will flexibly respond to the developing situation," the regulator's message states.

The National Bank last lowered the refinancing rate on June 10, 2013 - by 1.5 percentage points to 23.5%.-0-
