"To combat fraudulent traffic, a Belarusian national system to combat grey traffic is being created. It will combine the efforts of both operators and special services, and will be equipped with appropriate technical equipment and software to create conditions for preventing possible cybercrimes," Dmitry Shedko explained.
At the same time, the First Deputy Minister pointed out that the grey traffic counteraction system must be constantly improved. "We have improved the protection system, but new methods of 'attack' will be invented," he noted.
Dmitry Shedko touched upon the security of the information space. "Information protection is a critically important matter today, both for our country and for the whole world. The dependence of the economy and life support systems on information technologies is very high. Many things – heat supply, water supply, power plant security – are managed by automatic systems, i.e., essentially computer programs that operate according to a specific algorithm. There is always an 'arms race' here: hackers try to outdo the people who create information protection systems with their knowledge and skills," the First Deputy Minister remarked.
