On April 12, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed Decree No. 145 "On the Establishment of the Educational Institution 'National Children's Technopark'". This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the Head of State.
This institution will be established in Minsk by January 1, 2021. Annually, approximately 2,000 exceptionally gifted children, pupils of grades 6-11 from all regions of the country, will undergo training at the technopark.
A special 21-day educational program is being developed for them. Subsequently, additional education will continue according to individual plans with remote support from the technopark's instructors.
Highly qualified teachers, scientists, university lecturers, and employees of research and industrial organizations will work with the children.
The technopark's infrastructure will include an educational and laboratory building with modern equipment, and a dormitory for student accommodation. Accommodation and meals will be funded by the national budget.
"The establishment of the National Children's Technopark is real state support for gifted students to develop their abilities, technical creativity, and foster an interest in scientific, technical, and innovative activities. It is expected that training at the technopark will motivate schoolchildren to choose future professions in the fields of science and high technologies," the press service noted.
