The Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection traditionally initiates campaigns for tidying up the land, improving and greening settlements from March until mid-May.

“Within the framework of the Year of Peace and Creation”, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection announces the launch of the environmental campaign “Peaceful Creative Labour for the Benefit of a Clean and Green Country”. Already in March, with the melting of snow cover, events for cleaning up and improving territories will be held in all regions of the country; in April, when the ground warms up, thousands of young trees and shrubs will adorn the settlements of Belarus, and hundreds of “Peace and Creation” alleys will be laid.

Currently, in order to intensify land tidying efforts, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection is conducting a series of control and analytical measures, with particular attention paid to the condition of territories along railways, rights-of-way, roadside strips, stopping points along republican and local roads, publicly accessible areas of settlements, garden associations, garage cooperatives, agricultural enterprises and organizations, and territories of the state forest fund. Checks are also being carried out on compliance with waste management schemes, the condition of container sites, and the availability of containers for separate waste collection.
