Last year, energy supervision employees conducted a series of inspections of energy safety compliance in organizations and enterprises of the city. Among other things, attention was paid to the unsatisfactory condition of some energy installations at the railway. An act was drawn up, and an order was issued to eliminate the shortcomings. An official of the Orsha branch of the railway, whose fault caused the violation, was fined 35 base units. The shortcomings were rectified in the shortest possible time, which was confirmed during a repeat inspection. In case of non-compliance with the orders, the guilty party would have faced a fine of up to one hundred base units.
Modernisation
Last year, at the end of October, OJSC "ATP-14" purchased a 100-seat MAZ-manufactured bus for urban passenger transportation. The plans for modernisation for the current year are more ambitious: in the spring, it is planned to acquire a semi-trailer tractor, and in the summer – two 20-ton dump trucks and two trailers of the same load capacity. Among other things, over one hundred million rubles were allocated to the renovation of the repair base last year.
Driver Training
The Lepel DOSAAF Driving School exceeded its driver training plans by more than 15 percent. In total, 639 cadets went through the school during the year, including 51 for the army. The pass rate for exams at the traffic police on the first attempt is quite high – 88.7%. Groups for training in category "B" (cars) are recruited monthly, groups for category "E" (vehicles with trailers) are formed once every two months, and for category "C" (trucks) – once a quarter.
Assortment Expansion
The Lepel district branch of UP "Vitebskoblsoyuzdruk" has maintained the number of its retail outlets; newspapers and magazines can still be purchased at eight kiosks and the "Globus" shop. Up to 250 titles of periodicals are displayed on the shelves daily. In addition to periodicals, a wide range of everyday goods are sold. Recently, customers have been paying more attention to multi-cookers, as well as sheep wool products.
