Belarusian Ambassadors Appointed to Iran, Mongolia and Cuba

"I simply want to publicly warn you: you, as educated, experienced people, have the right to have and do have your own point of view and opinion. But you know where you are going. You represent the country and the President where you will be sent today. Therefore, I assume that you will unconditionally support the policy pursued by the country's leadership. If not, or if your opinion has changed, you should come, quietly, calmly, without fanfare, and say that 'I cannot'. So that there is no betrayal," Alexander Lukashenko stressed.

The President noted that among former Belarusian ambassadors there were those who acted accordingly. "Even if these are isolated cases, they are unacceptable. You are more than military personnel. Military personnel wear shoulder straps, like you, but mostly here in the country. And you are going abroad, and by looking at you, people there (in Mongolia, Iran, or Cuba) will draw conclusions about our country. Therefore, be worthy of the country, above all, and of the Belarusian people. Try to do so that later you will not feel ashamed and pained for these years lived," the head of state added.

The Belarusian diplomatic mission in Iran will be headed by Dmitry Koltsov, Head of the Africa and Middle East Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dmitry Gorelik, Head of the Main Department for International Cooperation and Trade of the Council of Ministers Apparatus, has been appointed Ambassador of Belarus to Mongolia.

An interesting reshuffle has occurred with the current Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Lithuania, Valery Baranovsky: he will fly to head the Belarusian Embassy in Cuba.

Alexander Lukashenko also approved the appointment of Dmitry Yemelyanov as Consul General of Belarus in Chongqing (China).
