Stanislav Zas, State Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, met today with Oleg Khramov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, and Andrey Krutskikh, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for International Information Security Cooperation. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by the State Secretariat of the Security Council.
The meeting discussed issues of interaction and coordination of positions between Belarus and Russia on promoting approaches to ensuring international information security in various international forums. The ways of implementing the 2013 Belarusian-Russian intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in ensuring international information security were specified.
The participants noted the effectiveness and importance of joint efforts undertaken in the field of ensuring international information security and expressed satisfaction with the results of the Belarusian-Russian interdepartmental consultations held on March 13 in Minsk.
During the dialogue, it was emphasized that the Belarusian side considers the UN General Assembly resolution "Advancements in information and telecommunications in the context of international security," adopted on the initiative of the Russian side, co-authored by Belarus in November 2018, as a crucial practical legal instrument for the further development of international information security and the improvement of national legislation.
Stanislav Zas informed his Russian colleagues about the Security Council meeting held the previous day, during which the draft Concept of Information Security was presented to the President of Belarus, as well as about the basic provisions of the document.
