In 2018, Belarus increased its high-tech product exports by 20% to almost $14 billion. This was announced to journalists today by the Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology, Alexander Shumilin, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
"IT service exports have significantly increased. We have entered new sales markets and started supplying high-tech products to Spain and African countries," said Alexander Shumilin.
Among the most popular Belarusian high-tech products abroad, the Chairman of the SCST noted integrated microcircuits and medical equipment. "We have created a computed tomography scanner, and orders are coming in, including for export," he added.
The share of high-tech product exports in the total volume of Belarusian exports in 2018 was 33.2%, which is 1 percentage point higher than in 2017.
