The Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve invites you to follow "Shlyakh Tsmoka" (The Dragon's Path). Everyone can embark on a journey full of mystery on September 21-22, as reported to BelTA correspondent by the environmental institution.
During these September days, the reserve will host the international mythology festival "Shlyakh Tsmoka". The new forum, conceived by the reserve's administration and the local district executive committee, unites two interesting projects with a common mythological theme, which were held annually in the Lepel district. Based on Slavic myths and legends, the festivals "Myths in the Swamp" in the Berezinsky Reserve and "Visiting the Lepel Dragon" in Lepel offered participants and guests a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the mysterious world of Belarusian myths, legends, and fairy tales. "The goal of combining the festivals is to create a more massive and spectacular cultural project with an expanded program attractive to a diverse audience," the reserve noted.
The first festival, organised in a new format, will take place on several sites of the central estate of the Berezinsky Biosphere Reserve in the village of Domzheritsy. Guests can expect an encounter with the main character – the Lepel Dragon, a parade of Belarusian mythological characters, a theatrical performance, performances by musical groups, and a master class in Belarusian dance with characters from Slavic mythology.
The evening program will also leave a lasting impression, including performances by musical groups, a fire show, a visit to the Museum of Mythology, an interactive night walk along the path of myths, meetings with mythological characters, and a night film screening. And this is not the full list: many "features" are still being developed by the organisers and are intended to be revealed later. Throughout the festival, various themed areas, children's play zones, food courts, and exhibitions will be open. The most active participants can expect commemorative prizes and diplomas from the forum's sponsors and partners.
