Rescuers from the Lepel District Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) have intensified their preventive work with parents as part of the new information campaign "Be Close to Your Child!".

Thus, on the eve of the autumn holidays, an educational event was held at the Fire and Rescue Station No. 1 in the town of Lepel, with the participation of families raising minor children. As part of this event, MES employees organised an informative tour of the fire department, introduced the profession of a rescuer, demonstrated special equipment and gear, and conducted a training session on teaching parents and children how to act in various emergency situations.

Another equally engaging event took place at the "Tri Tseny" (Three Prices) shop in Lepel, where children and their parents enthusiastically answered rescuers' questions and participated in themed contests and quizzes.

MES employees held discussions with parents on the dangers of leaving their children unattended, and also reminded them that teaching children safety rules should begin at a very early age.

"Some parents believe there is nothing wrong with leaving a child home alone for a while. They can watch cartoons, play computer games, and you can contact them by phone at any time and monitor the situation," - an MES inspector addresses parents. "However, in the event of a real threat to the child, the only thing a parent can do is call, but not help!"
