We are aware of the dangers of high voltage, as we are repeatedly told from childhood, "Don't put your fingers in the socket!" However, when it comes to sparking sockets and exposed wires, some people do not consider the lurking threat, believing that the issue can wait, thereby endangering themselves and their loved ones.
The main causes of fires include "bugs" (short circuits) in meters, electrical appliances left unattended, homemade heaters, and damaged switches and sockets. Often, minor malfunctions lead to tragic consequences.
We remind you that when operating electrical equipment, it is prohibited to:
- leave switched-on electrical appliances unattended;
- overload the electrical network;
- use radio and telephone wires as electrical networks;
- use non-factory (homemade) protection (wire twists, "bugs") instead of automatic fuses and calibrated fusible inserts to protect electrical networks;
- operate wires and cables with damaged insulation or insulation that has lost its protective properties;
- use homemade electric heaters for heating, drying, and cooking purposes;
- use damaged (faulty) sockets, switches, protective devices, and other electrical equipment;
- tie and twist electrical wires and cables, hang lamps and other objects on them;
- use lampshades made of paper, cloth, and other flammable materials;
- glue and paint electrical wires;
- install heating appliances on combustible bases without stands.
Observe fire safety rules – do not risk yourself and your property!
