Belarusian schoolchildren are starting their spring break, according to BELTA.
The break will last from March 26 to April 2 inclusive. More than 982,000 children will be able to rest and regain their strength.
Considerable attention will be paid to the health improvement of schoolchildren during these days. Almost Br1.5 million has been allocated from the national budget for these purposes. More than 65,400 boys and girls will have the opportunity to improve their health over six days of spring break in day camps. Various health and educational activities aimed at the creative, social, and physical development of children are held in day camps. Game and entertainment programs, sports festivals and competitions, and excursions are organised.
Traditionally, various cultural and educational events are held during the holidays. Interest clubs, sports halls and grounds, computer clubs, and children's and youth movement rooms are available for schoolchildren. All institutions of the system of additional education for children and youth are aimed at meaningful leisure and active engagement of students.
One of the main events of the spring break will be the final of the IV Republican Review-Competition of Children's Creativity "Hello, World!", which will be attended by about 500 schoolchildren from all regions of Belarus. The competition is aimed at promoting children's artistic creativity, identifying talented original authors and performers, as well as providing them with assistance and support in their further self-realisation, preservation and development of folk traditions. It includes nominations for choreographic, vocal, folklore, theatrical creativity, instrumental music, and fine arts.
Another area of activity will be career guidance work, with thematic events for final-year students and open days at universities to be held in vocational and secondary vocational education institutions.
