The Republican Week of Children and Youth Additional Education Institutions has started today in Belarus, as reported to BelTA correspondent by the press secretary of the Ministry of Education, Yulia Borodun.
The week's programme includes open days at additional education institutions, concert, entertainment and educational, and physical culture and sports programmes, performances by creative groups from additional education institutions at external concerts and exhibitions, master classes, presentations of the activities of additional education teachers, and exhibitions of children's creativity. Special attention will be paid to events aimed at the civic and patriotic education of the younger generation, the expansion of the cultural environment and spiritual consciousness. The best additional education teachers will be honoured.
Children and youth will be recruited into interest-based groups, and an advertising campaign will be conducted among students and their parents to familiarise them with the activities of specific additional education institutions and modern interest-based groups.
Those interested can participate in the republican competition "Festivals of Gardens and Flowers" (organizer - Republican Centre for Ecology and Local Lore with the support of the association "Professionals of Floristry and Flower Business", September-November), the folklore festival of creative amateur groups "My Native Land, My Beloved Land…" (National Centre for Arts and Crafts for Children and Youth, September), the competition "Patriot.by" (Republican Centre for Innovative and Technical Creativity, September-November).
The Week of Additional Education Institutions will run until September 10. The summing up of results is planned for September 9 in Mogilev.
