In 2025, the prosecutor's offices of the Vitebsk region received over 5.7 thousand appeals from citizens and legal entities. BELTA was informed about this by the department's information service.

Of the appeals received, prosecutors considered over 2.6 thousand on their merits, with the applicants' arguments being deemed justified in a quarter of cases, and prosecutorial response measures being taken for almost a thousand appeals. It should be noted that the largest number of appeals were considered regarding supervision of legislation enforcement – 898.

The measures taken, including those by the prosecutor's offices, have helped to improve the situation regarding the observance of citizens' labour rights. At the same time, in several regions, cases of untimely payment of amounts due to employees by employers still occur. For example, during the consideration by the Chashniki District Prosecutor's Office of an appeal from an employee of an agricultural enterprise, it was established that he was illegally deprived of part of his salary due to changes made to the timesheet – the number of hours worked was almost halved. Similar violations were identified concerning two other employees. Upon the district prosecutor's submission, the citizens were compensated for the underpaid portion of their wages totalling almost Br2 thousand, and the enterprise's manager and chief economist were held accountable.

The requirements of housing legislation are not always given due attention locally. For instance, a local resident appealed to the Tolochin District Prosecutor's Office for assistance in repairing his dwelling. During an on-site inspection, it was established that the boiler room roof and chimney of the applicant's rented dwelling required repair. Measures were not taken for a long time, despite repeated appeals on this matter to the competent authorities of the district. Following the prosecutor's intervention, the house was repaired, and the responsible persons were held accountable. Furthermore, measures to repair the roof of an apartment building in the Sennensky District were only taken upon the prosecutor's order. Three minors reside in one of the apartments of this building.

In the past year, the prosecutor's offices of the Vitebsk region conducted 51 inspections of compliance with legislation on citizens' and legal entities' appeals, issued 79 supervisory acts, and 120 officials were disciplined, with 7 facing administrative liability.
