5 January, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Illegal windshield washer fluid worth over Br160 million has been seized from the retail network of petrol stations in the Vitebsk region, BELTA was informed by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. During an inspection of roadside service and trade facilities, a raid group from the traffic police department of the Vitebsk District Department of Internal Affairs discovered the sale of alcohol-containing windshield washer fluid, not marked with the established excise stamps of the Republic of Belarus, within the retail network of petrol stations. A working group, comprising representatives of the Department for Combating Economic Crimes of the Vitebsk District Department of Internal Affairs and the Department for Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee for the Vitebsk Region, seized over 100 canisters, each with a capacity of 5 litres, from the retail network. It was established that this product was supplied for sale by a Vitebsk entrepreneur. During an inspection of warehouse premises, conducted jointly with employees of the Tax Inspectorate of the Oktyabrsky District of Vitebsk, the storage of approximately 3,000 containers of low-temperature windshield washer fluid manufactured in the Russian Federation, without appropriate marking, was identified and documented. The illegal batch is valued at over Br160 million. The offender faces administrative liability under Article 12.35 (violation of legislation on marking goods with control (identification) marks) of the Code of Administrative Offences, in the form of fines with confiscation of the goods.-0-
