Near the village of Kraitsy, a traffic police crew noticed an Opel Astra car. The driver was making abrupt manoeuvres: driving fast, and swerving onto the roadside when oncoming vehicles appeared.
During a conversation with the 31-year-old driver, the traffic police officers detected a characteristic smell of alcohol. The driver explained that he had drunk beer the previous evening, but did not consume strong alcoholic beverages at all.
A medical examination confirmed their suspicions: 2.4 per mille of ethyl alcohol was found in the offender's exhaled air.
The driver was fined 200 base units and deprived of his driving licence for 5 years.
