The inspection of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties for Orsha has stopped illegal promotional campaigns aimed at stimulating the sale of alcohol, low-alcohol beverages, and beer in the city's shops, the press centre of the inspection informed a BELTA correspondent.
Following monitoring in the city's retail trade network this year, the MNS inspection for Orsha conducted three checks of business entities. It was established that promotional events stimulating the sale of beer, low-alcohol and alcoholic beverages were held in retail outlets in violation of current legislation. For example, price tags with information about a new, lower price, as well as promotional leaflets for beer, low-alcohol and alcoholic products with the information "Promotion" were used.
As reported by the inspection, officials of business entities that committed violations will be brought to administrative responsibility provided for by Part 2 of Article 12.26 of the Code of Administrative Offences of Belarus "Violation of legislation on advertising of alcoholic beverages, beer, low-alcohol beverages, tobacco products and the procedure for selling alcoholic beverages and tobacco products". Violators face a fine ranging from 50 to 100 base units (the current size of the base unit is Br35 thousand).
Last year, one case of violation of legislation on the advertising of alcohol, low-alcohol beverages and beer was recorded in Orsha. -0-
