2 August, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. An open photo contest "My Small Homeland in Focus" has been announced in Polotsk District, the BELTA correspondent was informed at the Polotsk District Executive Committee.

Amateur photographers under 31 years of age are invited to participate in the contest. Photo enthusiasts can try their creative skills in three nominations: "My Small Homeland Is..." (works demonstrating the author's unusual approach to the plot and composition of the photograph, taken in the locality that is the author's small homeland or thematically related to this place); "Nature of My Small Homeland" (views of the locality that is the author's small homeland, in different seasons); "Portrait of a Resident of My Small Homeland" (a photo portrait that, in addition to external, individual appearance, should reflect the person's character, their spiritual world, and the era in which they live). No more than three works are accepted from each participant in each nomination.

Works in electronic format with applications for participation are accepted until August 9. The award ceremony for the winners (one in each nomination) will be held on August 11.

The photo contest is designed to promote patriotic education and the development of youth creative activities. It is held within the framework of the district image show "Farinovskaya Marka". The ideological work and youth affairs department of the Polotsk District Executive Committee acts as the organiser.-0-
