The severity of the consequences of these accidents is significantly influenced by the basic non-compliance with the requirements for drivers and passengers to wear helmets, speeding, carrying passengers in excess of the number permitted by the technical specifications, the absence of category A driving licenses and vehicle documents, as well as registration plates.
Often, riding a motorcycle without a license means one thing: the person has not undergone appropriate training in safe vehicle operation methods and has not passed an exam on knowledge of the Traffic Regulations. Furthermore, road problems will resolve themselves if caution is exercised when driving at intersections and on slippery surfaces, and entering the oncoming lane is deemed unacceptable.
Many motorcyclists deliberately do not register their vehicles to avoid traffic violations being recorded by cameras and to complicate the search for the driver in the event of an accident. In rural areas, this is explained by the fact that they use motorcycles only a few times a year.
It should be particularly emphasized that after purchasing a motorcycle, the first step is to obtain registration plates for it from the State Automobile Inspectorate (GAI). To do this, it is mandatory to register the vehicle.
Driving without registration plates is punishable by a significant fine – up to 360 rubles.
