"Not everything in our life is measured by money. I want to draw your attention to the fact that among the scientific priorities, the provision of state security, including humanitarian security, has been highlighted," said the Belarusian leader.

He stressed that representatives of the scientific sphere are the nation's brain. "Remember that humanitarian scientists, through their research and developments, must consolidate Belarusian society. Each of us must realize what effort the Belarusian people put into gaining their statehood and the right to decide their own destiny. We cannot lose this," stated Alexander Lukashenko. "Who are we? Where are we from? Where are we going? Our children must receive answers to these questions not only from their grandfathers but from us, from the elders, our scientists, lecturers, and teachers. There are plenty of problems there."

The President noted that social science disciplines should exclude even the hypothetical possibility of double standards in assessing historical events and erect a strong barrier against the falsification or distortion of facts upon which traditional values are based.

"No one, except us, is interested in us being a strong, sovereign, and independent country. A country that honors the past, values the present, and is confident in the future because it relies on patriotism and domestic scientific schools," he concluded.
