The Head of State noted that the VI All-Belarusian People's Assembly will be the most important forum of the five-year period. "But since great things are seen from a distance, after some time we may understand that this is the most important forum in the history of our people as well. Due to the moment the country is going through," said Aleksandr Lukashenko.
The VI All-Belarusian People's Assembly is planned to be held in the first half of February. Republican and regional organizing committees have already started their work, and the election of delegates begins tomorrow. "These should be people representing all strata and groups of our population, the entire Belarusian people. This has always been the case for us, starting from 1996 when we held the first All-Belarusian Congress," emphasized the President.
"It was not easy then either, you remember well: confrontation was escalating, but we managed to unite people and direct the energy of society for the benefit of the country. Frankly speaking, the first All-Belarusian People's Assembly was designed to save the situation at that time, to protect the country, and this is its historical role and essence," stated the Head of State. "This body of direct democracy played an important role."
