The Vitebsk Regional Museum of Local Lore will hold a "Night of Museums" event on May 17 at the City Hall for residents and guests of the city, BELTA was informed by the institution.
The celebration will begin at 7:00 PM on the square in front of the City Hall with a dance extravaganza that will tell about the history and cultural traditions of the city from the Grand Duchy of Lithuania to the present day. Then, in the City Hall itself, visitors will be able to enjoy a concert program and a theatrical suite on the theme of the works of the famous Vitebsk native, composer Mark Fradkin. Each exhibition hall will appear before visitors in a new light and share its secrets.
"For the first time, museum collection keepers will tell visitors about the history of creation, significance, and fate of unique rare items at the exhibition '100 Rarities for the Museum's 100th Anniversary'. The event will also feature master classes where guests will be invited to create unusual decorations and gifts themselves, and will include a brain ring, a film quiz, and quests. Those who wish will be able to try their hand at medal art and abstract painting, and see the night city from the City Hall tower," the local lore museum reported.
In addition, parents will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in their childhood by playing "Games of Our Yard" in the museum courtyard and teach them to their children. Uncle Vitya (a local character depicted on the streetlights of the historical center of Vitebsk, who plays with the surrounding space) will share the secrets of the evening city during an excursion.
