During the capital repair period, the preschool institution has been almost completely transformed: walls and floors have been insulated, window units, utility networks, and the building's roof have been replaced. Modern technological equipment has been installed in the food preparation area. In accordance with modern requirements, offices for the educational psychologist, speech therapist, a physical education and music hall, and cozy children's bedrooms have been equipped. Group rooms are furnished with modern furniture, play and sensory equipment, and development zones. Interactive learning tools have been acquired for the comprehensive development of children. The kindergarten grounds have been fully landscaped and fenced. New shade canopies, play complexes, and sandboxes have been installed on its playgrounds. In total, over Br2 million was spent on the project implementation.
The preschool institution will accommodate over 100 children aged from 1.5 to 7 years.
Nikolay Sherstnev addressed the warmest words to all participants of the festive event. He emphasized the importance of investing not only in economic but also in social and utility projects. "Today, the budget is almost entirely focused on the social sphere. All available funds are spent on its maintenance and development," said the governor. Every year, new social facilities are built in the region: culture houses, hospitals, polyclinics, bridges, kindergartens, schools, and sports and recreation centres.
"We want more, and this depends on us. If we work better, our economy, enterprises, and consequently our settlements will have more opportunities for development," concluded Nikolay Sherstnev. On the eve of Knowledge Day, he wished that Polotsk would grow with such facilities every year.
According to Irina Drozdova, Head of the Education Department of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, all educational institutions in the district have received their readiness passports and certificates for the new academic year. Educators are eagerly and joyfully anticipating their reunion with the children. This year, 10.6 thousand students will take their seats in the district's schools, including over 1 thousand first-graders. Preschool institutions will open their doors to 4.7 thousand children.
