The city's floral arrangements are already underway. Daily, teams of female workers, numbering over 50 people, are planting approximately 10-15 thousand flowers. Frost-resistant cinerarias and gazanias were the first to appear on the flowerbeds. Later, lobelias, begonias, salvias, alyssums, marigolds, pelargoniums, and various tagetes, as well as petunias and surfinia, used for vertical landscaping and favoured by the citizens, will be added.
Newcomers will add a touch of diversity to the overall picture – crested celosia, New Guinea impatiens, new varieties of marigolds, and coleus. "We have studied their properties and acclimatisation potential and decided to give them a try. They will be visible on the city's central streets. The choice is not accidental: this way, we will receive more feedback and decide whether to use them in the future," noted Valentina Shendyukova.
Mass planting of flowers in the regional centre will take place during the May holidays. A total of about 1 million such plants are planned to be planted.
– We are glad that we were able to provide support, – commented Galina Pronko, Chairperson of the Minsk Regional Branch of the RPO "Belarusian Children's Fund". – Sometimes, providing assistance becomes more important for those who initiated it rather than for those who received it. In this way, people feel that they are together and can give a piece of their warmth, delighting other people with their attention.
