President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has signed Decree No. 4, which introduces amendments to a number of current decrees, the press service of the Head of State informed BELTA.

The document has been adopted to bring legislation into line with the new version of the Tax Code, which entered into force on January 1, 2019.

The necessity of the amendments is due to the provisions of the Tax Code, which provide for the exemption from real estate tax of objects of supernormative unfinished construction, and the exclusion of such objects from land tax at an increased rate. The norms concerning the cancellation of the right of local Councils of Deputies to increase real estate tax rates by up to 10 times for unused and inefficiently used facilities, as well as land tax for land plots occupied by such facilities, have also been brought into line. Amendments are provided regarding the lifting of the ban on the application of the simplified taxation system by business entities engaged in retail trade through online stores, as well as providing services related to posting information about online stores on the website.

In addition, the introduced amendments are aimed at improving the current mechanism for establishing VAT payment deadlines when importing technological equipment into Belarus.
