On April 11, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The new concept of housing policy in Belarus will increase citizens' motivation to participate in individual construction. This opinion was expressed today to journalists during a visit to the Large-Panel House-Building Plant of RUP "Vitebsk DSK" by the Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Anatoly Kalinin, BELTA correspondent reports. According to him, in Belarus by 2015 it is planned to reach 50% of individual housing construction. For this purpose, the new concept of housing policy provides for many technical, including economic, solutions that will increase the motivation and interest of citizens in participating in individual construction. "We provide land free of charge to those in need, prepare minimal priority infrastructure - these are access roads at the expense of local councils, we propose in this concept that organizations supplying electricity, gas, and water connect their engineering networks to new areas of individual development for future consumers at their own expense, and citizens will then cooperate among themselves," said Anatoly Kalinin, noting that this issue will be considered at the level of the head of state. "It is possible that a number of significant proposals will be made to involve the population in individual housing construction," added the Deputy Prime Minister. Anatoly Kalinin also informed that according to the results of the first quarter, twice as much housing is being commissioned in Belarus compared to the same period last year. The expected area for the first quarter (statistics are still being compiled) will be 1 million 270 thousand sq.m. "At the same time, we spent less funds for these purposes, as we began to approach the issue more effectively and rationally," noted the Deputy Prime Minister. He also added that this year it is planned to commission more housing than planned, which is 5.2 million sq.m, of which 1 million sq.m is abroad, and 4.2 million sq.m is in the republic. The Deputy Prime Minister's trip to the Vitebsk region is related to the need to familiarize himself with the work of enterprises of the construction complex, utility enterprises of all sectors - road, motor transport, etc. It is planned to visit more than 10 enterprises in the region. -0-
