The President of Belarus has signed a Decree introducing amendments to the Traffic Regulations.

The innovations are introduced at the initiative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs with the aim of improving traffic management, reducing road accidents in the country, and enhancing the culture of road users.

From September 1st, cyclists and persons using personal mobility devices are obliged to dismount when crossing the roadway at a pedestrian crossing, and in certain cases when moving along a cycle crossing and a cycle path.

The definition of personal mobility devices is being adjusted. These include only those whose maximum technically permissible speed does not exceed 25 kilometers per hour.

A ban is introduced on the movement of personal mobility devices in pedestrian zones, as well as on sidewalks, if their weight exceeds 35 kg. Movement at a speed exceeding 10 km/h within a populated area is permitted only on cycle paths.

In addition, the installation of blinds, curtains, and film coverings on the side (except front) and rear windows of passenger cars is permitted. The requirements for marking winter tires have been changed. Products marked "All Seasons" will not be considered as such.
