A new book about our legendary fellow countryman is already in Lepel!

A unique book has been published in Vitebsk – the first major study on the life of Mikhail Kustinsky, a renowned historian, archaeologist, and photographer from Lepel. The author is Lyudmila Khmelnitskaya, an art critic from Vitebsk.

Across 200 pages, the book provides a detailed account of the fate of our distinguished fellow countryman and his contribution to the study of the Podvinye region. The text is complemented by rich illustrative material: photographs and documents, many of which are published for the first time!

Interest in Kustinsky's personality particularly revived in the early 2000s, when he was discussed at the "Lepel Readings" and his legacy attracted the attention of leading Belarusian scientists.

The print run of the book is only 40 copies, making it a true rarity. And one of these copies has already been transferred to the collections of the Lepel Regional Museum!
