Scammers initiate a "romance" on dating sites. Once the victim starts to trust them, they extract current geolocation data (where you are now, your address, district) and then pass this information to accomplices.
The scenario then proceeds as follows: "law enforcement officers" or "Ukrainian military personnel" call and claim you have been "identified," knowing your exact address / where you are at the moment. Subsequently, they threaten you and your relatives with retribution if you do not transfer money, demanding cash via courier or transfers to accounts.What to do: Never tell anyone your exact address or your real-time location; If an "acquaintance" from the internet suddenly starts asking about your district, house, or car – this is a red flag; In case of any threats over the phone mentioning your address – hang up immediately and call 102.
