Vitebsk has solemnly opened a new administrative building for the internal affairs department of the Pervomaisky District administration, a BELTA correspondent reports.
Law enforcement officers have moved from the building on Chernyakhovsky Avenue to Stroiteley Avenue, 3B. The updated facility meets modern standards. The building also has training rooms for the patrol and beat service and district inspectors.
The Minister of Internal Affairs, Yuri Karaev, congratulated his colleagues on the housewarming. He familiarised himself with the building's renovation and communicated with his subordinates. "Given the specifics of our work, we spend a lot of time on duty. It is important for the workplace to be comfortable, as this affects well-being, mood, and work results. Despite our difficult work, we must treat people with respect in all situations," noted the head of the department.
The Minister wished the personnel of the district department success in their service, professional growth, and presented them with the keys to a Geely Atlas car as a gift from the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
Employees of the Pervomaisky District Department of Internal Affairs serve the largest district in the city, with a population of about 200,000 people. Now all departments of the division are under one roof, which will be convenient for the townspeople as well.
The Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee, Viktor Nikolaikin, said that the appearance of the new department building had been in progress for several years. "There were different options. Modernising the old department building, but this required significant funds. Then it was proposed to build a new one, but this also involved considerable expenses. In the end, it was decided to renovate the building of the former city communication hub," said the mayor.
Gradually, working conditions for police officers will be updated in other cities of Belarus as well.
