The traditional festive event "New Year's Train" will delight passengers of the suburban train Polotsk-Vitebsk and Vitebsk-Polotsk, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Polotsk District Executive Committee.
The passenger suburban train, which will depart from Polotsk at 11:54 on December 27 and start its return journey from the regional centre at 14:58, will be transformed into a festive express. Near the carriage decorated in a New Year's style, passengers will be greeted by Ded Moroz (Father Frost), Snegurochka (Snow Maiden), and their assistants. During the journey, they will visit every carriage to congratulate all travellers on the New Year.
Passengers will be able to participate in contests of New Year's songs, riddle-reversals, poems, chastushkas (short, humorous folk songs), New Year's rhymes, as well as in the "Lucky Ticket" win-win lottery. Contest winners will receive New Year's souvenirs and sweets from Ded Moroz and Snegurochka as prizes.
In addition, passengers will be able to get a "Snow Tattoo from Ded Moroz". Using face paint, an artist will paint the faces of brave participants with New Year's images (snowflakes, snowmen, etc.), generously applying glitter, rhinestones, and pearlescent powder. All this beauty can be captured as a memento – a mobile photo studio "New Year's Shot" will be organised on the express. Everyone will have the opportunity to take a photo with Ded Moroz, Snegurochka, cheerful clowns, and fairy-tale characters. The organisers promise that there will be other pleasant surprises as well.
The press service also reported that Ded Moroz and Snegurochka will not overlook passengers of public city transport. New Year's characters can be met on December 26 and 29 on buses of routes No. 2 and No. 4. It is on these days that the festive event "New Year's Bus Route" will be organised in Polotsk.
