Currently, the design and estimate documentation for the complex's reconstruction is being prepared. "We have refined the lists of those killed and buried at the memorial complex – as of today, there are 9,417 soldiers. Thanks to the district's search teams, new names and surnames have been found, which will be indicated on the plaques after the reconstruction is completed. This meticulous work is ongoing, all surnames are being double-checked, and the correctness of their spelling is being established," noted Svetlana Ryzhanskaya.
According to her, conceptually, nothing will change at the updated site, as the memorial is an author's project and has historical and cultural value. The first phase of the "Rylenki" complex reconstruction is planned to be completed by July 3, 2019. The opening will be timed to coincide with the start of Operation Bagration in those areas in the summer of 1944.
The "Rylenki" memorial complex was erected in 1973 at the Rylenski brotherly cemetery in the Dubrovno district. It commemorates the memory of Soviet soldiers of the 11th Guards and 31st armies who died in fierce battles in the area from October 1943 to June 1944.
