New approaches to the import of goods for personal use have been introduced in Belarus since March 10. This was reported to BELTA by the press service of the State Customs Committee.

In particular, within three years, the following items can be imported as goods for personal use (without payment of customs duties): 1 unit each of gas (or electric) kitchen stoves, hob units, domestic extractor hoods, food processors, microwave ovens, ovens, bathtubs, shower cabins, sinks, washbasins, bidets, toilets, cisterns, domestic refrigerator-freezers, refrigerators, freezers, dishwashers, washing machines, coffee machines, sewing machines, domestic water heaters, colour liquid crystal display computer monitors, laptops (netbooks), tablet PCs, duplicating equipment, television reception apparatus, air conditioners, lawnmowers (trimmers), vacuum cleaners, domestic welding apparatus, domestic electric generators, domestic car wash equipment, baby carriages (each type depending on the child's age), outboard motors, civilian smoothbore or rifled weapons and their parts.

Within two years, up to 4 units of summer and winter pneumatic tires (or wheels with summer and winter tires, including used ones) can be imported for each personal vehicle owned by an individual transporting such goods. Up to 4 rims are also allowed for import duty-free.

Exceptions apply to goods imported with payment of a composite customs duty.

The calculation of the specified periods (3 and 2 years) is made from March 31, 2014.
