Five major projects for the modernisation of timber processing have been implemented this year by the forestry enterprises of the Vitebsk Production Forestry Association (VPFA), the association informed a BELTA correspondent.
Three of them have already been completed: a line for processing small-sized timber has been installed at the Begomlsky forestry, a timber sorting line has been commissioned at the Verkhnedvinsky forestry, and equipment for processing large-diameter timber has been installed at the Lepelsky forestry.
Two more projects, which will create a total of about 40 jobs, are currently underway: a Polish technological line with a capacity of 500 cubic metres of sawn timber per month has been delivered to the Gluboksky forestry. Its cost is Br530 thousand. The assembly of similar equipment will be completed soon in the timber processing workshop of the Tolochinsky forestry. It is planned to commission these lines before the end of the year.
Currently, 16 timber processing workshops and two repair sections are operating at the forestry enterprises of the Vitebsk VPFA. The total volume of investments in timber processing from January to October amounted to over Br2.3 million. The profitability of marketable products is 24%.
