The minimum consumer budgets (MCB) for different socio-demographic groups, per capita and per family member of various compositions, at average December 2017 prices, have been established in Belarus. This decision is contained in the Resolution of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection dated January 24, 2018, No. 8, as reported to a BELTA correspondent by the relevant department.
The minimum consumer budgets (MCB) for different socio-demographic groups, per capita and per family member of various compositions, at average December 2017 prices, have been established in Belarus. Thus, the minimum consumer budget per family member of a four-person family, for the period from February 1 to April 30, 2018, calculated per month, amounts to Br328.45. This social standard has increased by 1% compared to the one effective from November 1, 2017, to January 31 of the current year.
By the Resolution of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, for the period from February 1 to April 30 of this year, the per capita minimum consumer budgets for a young family of three people have also been established at Br356.10; for the working-age population – Br420.60; for pensioners – Br331.82; for students – Br313.91; for children under 3 years old – Br266.56; for children aged 3 to 6 years – Br348.44; for children aged 6 to 18 years – Br358.70.
Minimum consumer budgets are used to analyse the achieved standard of living of the population and forecast its changes, to assess the material situation of different population groups and family types, to evaluate the purchasing power of the population's income, and to justify the levels of minimum social and labour guarantees.
