New toll rates for the M-1/E30 Brest - Minsk - Russian Federation border highway will be introduced in Belarus from January 1, 2012, BELTA was informed by the press service of the Belavtodor Department of the Ministry of Transport and Communications. In accordance with the resolution of the Ministry of Transport dated November 2 of the current year No. 70, a new category of payers is introduced - owners (users) of motor vehicles from the Customs Union countries (instead of the Russian Federation). In addition, motor vehicles with a height not exceeding 210 cm will not be divided into categories depending on the number of axles. For owners of passenger cars of Belarus (vehicles with a height not exceeding 210 cm), a zero toll rate is maintained. From January 1, similar vehicles from the Customs Union countries will also be exempt from tolls. The resolution separately specifies vehicles of Belarus that will have a preferential toll rate. These include, in particular, route buses, vehicles carrying milk, bread, agricultural products, and some others. For certain categories of owners of vehicles from foreign countries and Customs Union countries, toll rates will increase slightly.
