A new kindergarten is planned to be built in Lepel. This was announced by the Chairman of the Lepel District Executive Committee, Mikhail Kiselevich, during the visit of Deputy Prime Minister Igor Petrishenko to the Center for Correctional and Developmental Education and Rehabilitation of Lepel District, as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
The construction of the preschool institution is planned to be completed within the next one and a half to two years. A site is being identified in the new microdistrict on Chuykov Street. The development of design and estimate documentation and construction are planned to commence next year. The kindergarten will accommodate 240-250 children, which will fully meet the demand for preschool education.
Approximately 70 children attending city kindergarten No. 5 will be transferred to the new kindergarten. The vacated building will be occupied by the Center for Correctional and Developmental Education and Rehabilitation of Lepel District. Currently, it is located in a former kindergarten building constructed in 1967. Considering the increased number of children requiring its services, an expansion of space is necessary. Upon relocation, their premises will double in size. Currently, 47 children attend this institution, including 13 who are studying in specialized classes.
The Deputy Prime Minister also intends to familiarize himself with the activities of the Center for Social and Labor, Social and Domestic, and Physical Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons of the Territorial Center for Social Services of the Population of Lepel District.-0-
