18 May, Ushachy, /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. A new stage of development of Belarus's political life implies professional politics with constructive dialogue. This was stated today by the Minister of Information of Belarus, member of the republican council of the republican public association "Belaya Rus" Oleg Proleskovsky, speaking to the participants of the reporting and election conference of the Ushachy district organisation of the PA "Belaya Rus", as reported by a BELTA correspondent.
As Oleg Proleskovsky noted, having overcome the negative consequences of the global financial and economic crisis, Belarus has embarked on a deep, but calm and systematic reform of its economy, which inevitably implies changes in the life of the entire society and its political sphere. In these conditions, the working conditions, the nature of the goals and objectives facing "Belaya Rus" as one of the most powerful socio-political structures in the country will change.
"The new stage of development of our country's political life is primarily associated with the fact that politics is becoming and will become more professional. From the traditional confrontation between patriotic forces and the "fifth column", we must move to a business-like, constructive discussion of specific problems of our society and ways to solve them. We need to discuss specific amendments to legislation, specific projects, how to make the economy more efficient and people's lives better," emphasised Oleg Proleskovsky.
At the same time, he considers it unacceptable to talk about liberalising the activities of the so-called fifth column. "To maintain the manageability and sovereignty of Belarus with a certain economic liberalisation, it is necessary to maintain and even increase the power of those mechanisms that allow the state and patriotic citizens to protect national interests both inside and outside the country," stated Oleg Proleskovsky.
In this regard, he considers it obvious that the path to transforming "Belaya Rus" into a political party is timely and objectively necessary. "Belaya Rus" has always acted as a socio-political force and has never tried to distance itself from political activities, including the most active participation in election campaigns. The public association is ready for transformation, ready to become a political party," he is convinced. With the transformation of "Belaya Rus" into a party, the nature of the country's political landscape will fundamentally change: a party with 230,000 members will emerge, capable of initiating various changes, including in the political sphere.
