A new festival may appear in Vitebsk in January 2020, as reported at a press conference by Gleb Lapitsky, General Director of the Vitebsk Culture Centre and Director of the "Slavianski Bazaar" festival, according to a BELTA correspondent.
The Vitebsk Culture Centre plans to hold a new festival in January, after Christmas. "This winter project will be more focused on competition than on a guest programme. Nevertheless, it will provide us with a tourist flow and an opportunity to scout ensembles that may later come to the 'Slavianski Bazaar'. One could say that this is a kind of qualifying competition for participation in the festival, not only for contestants but also for various dance ensembles. We are searching for them non-stop throughout the year to frame all the performances of the forum," noted Gleb Lapitsky.
This year, the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival took place from July 8 to 17. During the forum, over 160 events were held, attended by more than 300,000 people. 72,000 tickets were sold.
