On September 15, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. With the introduction of new currency exchange rates in Vitebsk, queues and "stand-by" customers at bank exchange offices have disappeared, reports a BELTA correspondent.
New buying and selling rates for foreign currencies were set in most currency exchange offices and banking service centres of the city's banks in the afternoon of September 14. With their introduction, the queues of citizens who had been waiting for hours at the coveted windows quickly melted away, which did not affect the volume of currency transactions at all, as reported by Belarusbank and Priorbank, noting that the amount of currency bought and sold remained practically at the same level compared to previous days.
Currently, it is only possible to purchase currency at the city's exchange offices that has been bought by banks from the public. However, this can be done without significant problems. For example, BPS-Bank said: "Come and buy!". Priorbank had a standard advance of its own currency available for sale this morning. At the same time, they emphasized that yesterday afternoon the public was selling currency at the new rate, and there were no buyers by the end of the working day.
In Vitebsk, the spread of rates in currency exchange offices today ranged from Br8200-8500 for buying dollars and Br8800-8900 for selling. Euros were bought for Br11400-11500 and sold for Br12200-12300. The buying rate for the Russian ruble is uniform in most banks at Br270, and selling at Br310-320. Changes to these rates may occur after the next additional currency trading session, banks added. -0-
