The work of medical staff needs to be streamlined now, stated the new Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Vishnevetsky, to journalists.
Mikhail Vishnevetsky took over the management of the department at a challenging time, and the tasks are accordingly demanding. "Currently, the work of medical staff needs to be streamlined so that they also take care of themselves. Their contacts need to be limited: by being in close proximity to those infected with coronavirus, healthcare professionals can transmit it to their families. Another priority issue is ensuring all medical staff are provided with personal protective equipment. The supply of medicines in healthcare facilities is stable, and this issue is under control," said the Head of the Regional Department of Healthcare.
Regarding the visit of WHO specialists to Belarus, Mikhail Vishnevetsky noted that all healthcare institutions in the Vitebsk region must be prepared for the delegation's arrival. Experts will be able to assess the situation in the region. "It should be understood that during this period, there is always an increase in respiratory infections. Due to the mild winter, this surge has shifted. We are still on the rise, but I believe we will soon reach a plateau, and then a decline will follow," he added.
The next meeting of the regional headquarters for combating the spread of coronavirus and protecting the population from infection took place today at the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee. The new Head of the Main Department for Healthcare of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Mikhail Vishnevetsky, was introduced at the meeting. Previously, he held the position of Deputy Head of the Minsk Regional Department of Healthcare.
