A new business-class interregional train, No. 705/706 Polotsk-Mogilev, has commenced operation between the two cities since December 11, as reported to BELTA by the Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railways.
A new business-class interregional train, No. 705/706 Polotsk-Mogilev, has commenced operation between the two cities since December 11, as reported to BELTA by the Vitebsk branch of Belarusian Railways.
The train runs daily, departing from Polotsk at 8:32 (from Vitebsk at 10:02) and arriving in Mogilev at 12:24. It departs from Mogilev at 16:11, arriving in Vitebsk at 18:35 and in Polotsk at 20:11. Along its route, it makes stops at the stations: Obol, Shumilino, Lettsy, Vitebsk, Bogushevskaya, Orsha, Shklov.
The presentation of the new Polish-manufactured diesel train took place at Vitebsk station. It comprises three carriages with 145 seats. The rolling stock meets modern safety and comfort requirements. Passengers have access to spacious saloons and comfortable seats with individual backrest and armrest adjustments. Each carriage is equipped with an air conditioning system and a low floor for quick boarding and alighting. One of the carriages features a multi-functional area for passengers with reduced mobility, as well as for those with oversized luggage (bicycles, prams). There are 2 vacuum toilet facilities, one of which is adapted for passengers with reduced mobility. Additionally, the train is equipped with power sockets, a video surveillance system, and a video information system. For convenience, the distance between seat rows is ample.
Passengers are served by conductors from the Polotsk Conductor Reserve of the Vitebsk Carriage Section, and the train is operated by drivers from the Mogilev Locomotive Depot.
Travel documents can be purchased at all Belarusian Railways sales points that sell tickets for passenger trains. The cost of a single journey from Polotsk station to Mogilev station is Br8.5, and from Vitebsk to Mogilev is Br6.44.
