"All decisions have been made. We will act in this direction," emphasized the Belarusian leader, addressing the issue raised by one of the plant's workers regarding the possibility of an additional increase in the retirement age.
Alexander Lukashenko also noted that the retirement age could have been set, for example, at 50 years. "But do not forget that after 50 years, our children will support us," the head of state pointed out.
Consequently, the burden and contributions to the pension fund would increase. "But no mother, no father will ever say: let my daughter or son pay for me. They will say: I would rather work for another 3-5 years," said the President.
"Understand me. I come from ordinary people, from a simple family. My mother was a milkmaid, and I know what this life is like. And I myself milked cows for 10 years. But we should not shift our problems onto our children. Who knows how the lives of our children will turn out. That is the problem, not because we want to take some money from you," emphasized the Belarusian leader.
"We have made all the decisions (on the retirement age. - Ed. BELTA). I myself will soon be a pensioner along with you. Should I work until I'm 80 and then retire at 80? I'll be climbing onto a plane and fall on those steps," noted Alexander Lukashenko.
