A scientific camp for students of Belarusian universities, "Talentavita," is concluding its work in the village of Borovka, Lepel District. Today, its participants will present their solutions in the field of biotechnology aimed at improving human quality of life, as reported to BELTA by the project organizers.

For ten days in the Lepel District, 25 students have been developing scientific projects on the theme "PRO Health: Biotechnology for Quality of Life." During the summer scientific session, the young people met with 18 experts from Belarusian universities, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, and leading scientific and practical medical centers. The program included master classes, lectures, and sports and wellness activities. During this time, participants formed teams and worked on their own projects under the guidance of practical experts.

Today, the camp participants will present five projects to the jury members, defending their scientific relevance and practical application. Some teams have focused on issues related to the fight against oncological diseases. The works will be evaluated by distinguished experts from the fields of medicine, education, science, and public administration. Among the jury members are Oleg Rummo, Director of the Minsk Scientific and Practical Center for Surgery, Transplantology and Hematology, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Doctor of Medical Sciences; Olga Aleinikova, Chief Researcher at the Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and Immunology, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus; and Anatoly Shchastny, Rector of Vitebsk State Medical University.

"The trend towards biotechnology is becoming evident: what seemed like science fiction 20 years ago is now widely available," noted Vladimir Sychev, Director of NatiVita company. "We are not aiming to get a ready-to-implement project; it's unrealistic in such a short period. We are creating a vibrant scientific environment with discussions, interaction with experts, and team debates, so that the students learn to think like scientists, ask questions, and find non-standard connections between ordinary things. Only in this way are the most incredible discoveries made."

The summer scientific session is conducted under the "Talentavita" program and the initiative of the pharmaceutical company NatiVita, with the support of the N.N. Alexandrov Republican Scientific and Practical Center for Oncology and Medical Radiology and Vitebsk State Medical University.
