During a working trip to Vitebsk on September 1, Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko familiarised himself with the organisation of cable and wire production at OOO "PO "Energokomplekt" and new developments at OAO "Konstruktorskoe byuro "Displey".

"Energokomplekt" is currently a leader in cable production in Belarus, ranks 3rd in processing volumes in the CIS countries, and its products are preferred in 20 countries worldwide. As Roman Golovchenko noted, it is important that a significant portion of the enterprise's exports is supplied to the European Union market:

— This is a serious strategic objective for Belarus, so I wanted to learn firsthand how Belarusian manufacturers operate in the European market, what issues they face, and also to gain experience that the government can adopt.

Furthermore, during discussions with the management of "Energokomplekt", a number of issues concerning the improvement of state support mechanisms for exporters, as well as specific problematic aspects, were raised, the Prime Minister explained. Their resolution will help remove barriers to the development of private initiative, so that it brings even greater benefits to both the enterprise's employees and the city and the country's budget as a whole.

"Energokomplekt" is completing the establishment of production for cross-linked polyethylene cables with an easily removable semiconductor layer for voltages from 10 to 35 kV. The project is included in the State Programme for Innovative Development of the Republic of Belarus for 2016-2021. As a result, 15 jobs will be created. Reaching design capacity is planned by the end of 2021.

The enterprise has developed a development strategy for the period up to 2035, envisaging a 2.5-fold increase in production volumes. One of the strategically significant future measures is the innovative project "Establishment of production of a universal cable for laying in the ground, water, and air with a voltage of 6–35 kV and cable with single-wire sector aluminium conductors with a voltage of up to 6 kV". The annual capacity of the production facility being created will exceed 10 thousand km of universal power cable and cable with single-wire conductors. The launch is scheduled for 2026.
